Ingredients

  • 660 g puff pastry (frozen, 2 packages)
  • 600 g apples
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 80 g raisins
  • 50 g sliced almonds
  • 60 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Thaw the puff pastry laid side by side. Peel, quarter, core and dice the apples, then drizzle with lemon juice. Mix in cinnamon, sugar and raisins. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface, place it on parchment paper, and spread the apple mixture over one half.

  2. 2.

Beat the egg and brush the edges with a little egg. Fold the other half over the apples. Turn the ends inward and make several parallel cuts across the top of the strudel. Carefully transfer the strudel with the parchment onto a cold-washed baking sheet, brush with remaining egg, and bake in an oven at 200°C (fan) for about 40 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
