Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 150 g softened butter
- 150 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- 750 g tart apples
- 100 g cold butter
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 80 g chopped pecans
- 70 g half-pecans
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions

Whisk softened butter with salt and sugar until fluffy, fold in eggs, then stir in flour and baking powder.

Peel, halve, and core the apples.

Grate one apple coarsely and mix into the batter.

Pour the batter into a greased pan.

Make several cuts on the domed side of the apples, place them in the batter, dot with butter pieces and sprinkle chopped nuts over the apples.

Dust with sugar and arrange half-pecans decoratively around the edge.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 50 minutes.

Remove, let cool slightly, then take out of the pan and cool on a wire rack.
