Ingredients

  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 100 g marzipan base
  • 120 g hazelnut kernels
  • 250 g softened butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 100 g cornstarch
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp grated organic orange zest
  • 1 packet baking powder

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C.

    Grate the chocolate. Cut the marzipan into centimeter-sized pieces. Roughly chop the hazelnuts. Grease the pan thoroughly and dust it with flour. Beat the butter and sugar with a hand mixer until fluffy, almost dissolving the sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, orange zest, and baking powder, then fold into the butter mixture. Stir in the chocolate, hazelnuts, and marzipan. Pour the batter into the pan. Bake for about 1 hour (check with a skewer). Let the cake cool slightly, turn onto a wire rack, and allow to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
