Apple Cake with Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 50 ml Milk (3.5% fat)
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened applesauce (15 g each)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 100 g whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 small apple

Instructions

    Whisk the egg, oil, milk, applesauce and honey until smooth.

    Fold in the whole wheat flour, baking powder and cinnamon until a uniform batter forms.

    Divide the batter into two small baking pans. Wash, dry, quarter, core and finely slice the apple; spread evenly over the batter.

    Place the cakes on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (160 °C fan; gas: level 2–3) for about 25–30 minutes until golden brown (do the toothpick test). Remove from the oven and let cool briefly.
