Ingredients
- 250 g honey
- 75 g butter
- 75 g cane sugar
- 1 tsp potash
- 400 g flour
- 50 g almond kernels (peeled and chopped)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 0.25 tsp cloves (ground)
- piment (¼ tsp, ground)
- cardamom (¼ tsp, ground)
- baking paper
- 50 g almond flakes
- 100 g peeled almond kernels
Instructions

Warm honey, butter, and sugar together while stirring until the sugar dissolves; let cool.

Dissolve the potash in 1 tbsp water, add to the flour, almonds, and spices with the honey mixture and knead. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Sprinkle a work surface with almond flakes. Roll out the dough on it and cut into rectangles (3 x 4 cm).

Place the printen on a baking sheet lined with paper, almond-flake side down, press an almond onto each; bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 18 minutes until golden yellow.
