Advent Cake

The Advent cake from Spoonsparrow sweetens the cold season and friends and family will be delighted!

Ingredients

  • 100 g cherries
  • 250 g softened butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 50 g Brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 100 g raisins
  • 200 g Flour
  • 50 g ground almonds
  • 50 g starch
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 50 g chopped almonds
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • candied orange peel
  • cherries (sliced)

Instructions

    Coarsely chop the cherries. Beat butter, sugar and eggs until the mixture is light and fluffy. Fold in nutmeg, raisins, chopped cherries, flour, baking powder and almonds into the batter. Pour the dough into a greased and floured springform pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 1 hour.

    After 10 minutes of resting time, release the cake from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack.

    Meanwhile, make a thick glaze from powdered sugar and lemon juice and spread it evenly over the cake.

    Garnish with cherries and candied orange peel, allow to dry, cut into pieces and serve with coffee.
