Yeast Loaf

Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 35 g yeast
- 0.25 l lukewarm milk
- 50 g chopped almonds
- 50 g candied citrus peel
- 100 g butter
- 2 Eggs
- 50 g sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 150 g powdered sugar
- sprinkled sugar decoration

Sift the flour into a bowl, make a well in the center. Dissolve the yeast in the milk and pour it into the well; sprinkle flour around the edges and let rise covered for 15 minutes. Stir in the almonds and chopped citrus peel, then allow to rise another 10 minutes. Add softened butter, sugar, and eggs, knead into a smooth dough, and let rise for 30 minutes.

Divide the dough into 2 or 4‑6 pieces, shape each into three strands, braid them, and tie into a ring. Place on a well‑greased baking sheet, let rise for 30 minutes. Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice, brush over the loaves, and bake at 200 °C for about 40 minutes (shorter for smaller loaves). Sprinkle decorative eggs in the center.
