Tuna Pasta Bake

Whether as dinner, lunch or for the office – this tuna pasta bake is quick to make and always a delight!

Ingredients

  • 1 Shallot
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 600 g diced tomatoes (canned)
  • Salt
  • black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 250 g canned tuna (in its own juice)
  • 500 g fusilli pasta
  • 150 g freshly grated Parmesan
  • 2 tbsp fresh chopped basil

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 200 °C (convection: 180 °C, gas: level 2–3). Peel and finely chop the shallot and garlic; sauté them in hot oil until translucent. Add the tomatoes, season with salt, pepper, and oregano, and simmer for about 5 minutes over medium heat.

    Drain the tuna, let it drain, flake it with a fork, mix into the tomato sauce, and simmer for another 5 minutes. Cook the pasta in a pot of boiling salted water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside. Combine the pasta with the sauce, divide among four baking dishes, sprinkle with Parmesan, and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until golden. Serve sprinkled with fresh basil.
