Ingredients

  • 250 g Penne
  • Salt
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 2 onions
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 can pizza tomatoes (ca. 400 g)
  • pepper (ground)
  • 4 tbsp paprika paste
  • 200 g heavy cream (at least 30% fat)
  • 100 g Sour cream
  • paprika powder
  • 200 g cheese (grated Gouda)
  • 3 stems basil
  • 2 cans tuna (in own juice)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 200°C with top and bottom heat. Cook the pasta in plenty of salted water until al dente. Wash, halve, seed, remove membranes from the bell peppers and dice them. Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic.

  2. 2.

Sauté both in butter, add the paprika paste and cook briefly, then pour in the pizza tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Simmer gently for 5 minutes, then stir in the cream and sour cream. Adjust seasoning with paprika powder.

  3. 3.

Drain the pasta and mix with the bell pepper cubes, half of the sauce, and half of the cheese. Transfer to a baking dish. Wash the basil, dry, cut into fine strips, and scatter over the gratin.

  4. 4.

Drain the tuna, break it up roughly, spread over the basil, pour remaining sauce on top. Sprinkle with the rest of the cheese and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes until golden. Serve sprinkled with basil.
