Ingredients

  • 300 g flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 200 g cold butter
  • 1 egg (large)
  • 200 g red jam to taste (without pieces or seeds), warmed (e.g., raspberry, strawberry or cherry)
  • 50 g powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. 1.

Sift the flour with salt and sugar onto a work surface. Press a depression in the middle. Add the egg and butter pieces. Roughly chop everything with a large kitchen knife into a crumbly dough, then quickly knead it into a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour.

  2. 2.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 3 mm thickness and cut out 50 stars. From half of the cookies, use the back of a piping tip to cut out a circle. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (gas: level 2-3, convection: 180°C) for about 12 minutes until light brown. Let the cookies cool on a cooling rack.

  3. 3.

Sift powdered sugar over the star-shaped cookies with holes. Spread warmed jam on the other half of the cookies and place the sugared halves on top.

  4. 4.

Carefully fill the holes with jam. Leave to set overnight, then package.
