Spicy Satay Skewers

Ingredients

  • 600 g chicken cutlets
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 piece ginger (ca. 3 cm)
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 0.5 tbsp paprika powder (spicy)
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 4 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey (to taste)
  • 4 tbsp peanut oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 16 wooden skewers
  • oil (for frying)

Instructions

    Wash, dry, and cut the chicken into 1.5-2 cm wide strips, then into squares. Peel and finely dice the shallots. Peel and press the garlic. Peel and grate the ginger. Mix the shallots, garlic, ginger, curry powder, paprika powder, tomato paste, honey, salt, pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and oil into a paste. Combine the chicken with this paste and marinate for 1 hour.

    Meanwhile, soak the wooden skewers in cold water.

    Thread the marinated meat onto the skewers. Grill the skewers or pan‑fry them in oil until golden brown.
