Ingredients

  • 1 Carrot
  • 100 g Celery Root
  • 1 onion
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 g mixed ground meat
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 250 ml rich beef broth
  • Salt
  • a pinch sugar
  • black pepper (ground)
  • 400 g diced tomatoes (canned)
  • 500 g spaghetti
  • freshly grated Parmesan (for topping)

Instructions

    Peel the carrot, celery root, onion and garlic, then dice finely. In a pot, brown the ground meat in hot oil while stirring until crumbly. Add the prepared vegetables and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste and pour in the beef broth. Season with salt, sugar and pepper, then mix in the diced tomatoes. Simmer covered for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally; add more broth if needed.

    Cook the spaghetti in salted water until al dente.

    Taste the sauce again, toss it with the drained pasta, and serve sprinkled with Parmesan.
