Ingredients

  • 560 g shellfish fillet (4 fillets)
  • 8 large shrimp (deveined and peeled)
  • 10 spring onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 red chili peppers
  • 4 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 5 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp rice wine

    Wash and pat dry the shellfish fillets and shrimp. Wash, trim, and cut the spring onions into 8 diagonal rings; finely chop the remainder. Peel and finely chop the garlic, then mix with chopped spring onions, ginger, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Spread the mixture on the shellfish fillets and lay two shrimp along each lengthwise. Roll up and secure with toothpicks. Place in a steamer basket and steam over hot water vapor in a pot or bamboo steamer for 8-10 minutes.

    For the sauce, wash, trim, and slice the chili peppers into rings. Stir together sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, and rice wine. Arrange spring onions on plates, place the rolls (remove toothpicks and cut into slices if desired) on top, drizzle sauce over them, and serve.
