Ingredients
- 500 g sticky rice
- 20 fresh reed or banana leaves
- 20 fresh dates
Instructions

Rinse sticky rice in a sieve with warm water and soak for about 30 minutes.

Bring 2 liters of water to a boil, blanch the leaves for 1 minute, remove them and cool in ice water.

Soak the dates in cold water for about 15 minutes.

Lay two leaves side by side. Roll them together so that pouch‑shaped funnels form.

Fill each funnel with 50 g sticky rice and 2 dates, fold the top leaf inward and wrap the funnel with twine.

Bring 1½ liters of water to a boil in a pot, then simmer the packets over low heat for 40 minutes.

Let them cool before serving.
