Rice Casserole with Swiss Chard
The rice casserole with Swiss chard from Spoonsparrow also pleases guests.
Ingredients
- 200 g natural rice
- Salt
- 300 g Swiss chard (1 stalk)
- 90 g large onions (1 large onion)
- 1 Garlic clove
- 4 dill stems
- 200 g feta cheese (45% fat in the product)
- 60 g walnut kernels (4 tbsp)
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 Eggs
- 200 g cooking cream
- 100 g sour cream (5 tbsp; 20% fat)
- Pepper

Cook rice in plenty of boiling salted water for 30 minutes until firm. Drain well.

Meanwhile, clean and wash the Swiss chard, cut stems into thin strips, finely chop leaves. Peel and dice onions and garlic. Wash dill, pat dry, trim tips and chop finely. Break feta into pieces. Roughly chop walnuts.

Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onion and garlic for 3 minutes over medium heat. Add chard stems and sauté for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Mix the pan contents with chard leaves, walnuts, feta, and rice.

Whisk eggs with cooking cream and sour cream, seasoning with dill, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the rice blend in a baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for 35 minutes.
