Quince Schnapps

Ingredients

  • 1 kg quince
  • 200 g white candied sugar
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 lemon (juice)
  • 750 ml Korn (or vodka)

Instructions

    Scrub the quinces with a cloth, wash them, remove flower buds and stems, then cut into wedges. Fill 3-4 sterilized glasses (about 500 ml each) with the quince wedges and candied sugar. Boil 250 ml water with the sugar and lemon juice until the sugar dissolves, then pour over the quinces in the glasses. Top up with Korn so everything is well covered. Seal tightly and let steep in a dark, warm place for 4–5 weeks, shaking occasionally.

    Afterward strain through a fine cloth and transfer the schnapps into prepared bottles.
