Ingredients
- 4 rump steaks (or round steaks about 200 g)
- 240 g basmati rice
- 3 tomatoes
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp fresh oregano
- olive oil (cold‑pressed)
- chili powder
- Salt
Instructions
-
1.
Pat the steaks lightly. Wash, blanch, peel, halve, core and dice the tomatoes. Peel and finely chop the garlic. Cook the rice according to package instructions until al dente.
-
2.
Heat 1–2 tbsp of oil in a pan and sear the steaks on each side for about 1–1½ minutes (the meat should still be nicely pink inside). Then cut the meat into cubes, catching the juices, lift it from the pan and keep warm.
-
3.
Add the tomatoes, garlic, and 2 tbsp oregano to the pan and sauté over high heat for about 5 minutes while stirring. Add the steak cubes with their juices and cook for another minute. Season with salt and chili powder. Fill glasses with rice and top with the beef mixture.
