Potato Gratin

This fine, savory, warming casserole is a must-cook!

Ingredients

  • 800 g waxy potatoes
  • 1 Tbsp soft butter
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 300 ml whipping cream
  • Salt
  • freshly grated nutmeg
  • ground pepper

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with both fan and top heating.

    Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly or shave them into rounds. Grease a baking dish (or aluminum pan) with soft butter. Arrange the potatoes in the dish, layering them like roof tiles. Peel the garlic and press it through a garlic press. Mix the garlic with the cream and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour the cream over the potatoes until the slices are just covered.
