Ingredients
- 800 g waxy potatoes
- 1 Garlic clove
- 3 sprigs thyme
- 400 ml heavy cream (at least 30% fat)
- 75 g freshly grated parmesan
- Salt
- ground pepper
- nutmeg

Peel, wash and thinly slice or grate the potatoes. Peel the garlic and press it through a sieve. Wash the thyme, shake dry and remove the leaves.

Combine the cream with garlic, thyme and cheese. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Layer the potatoes in a circular, roof‑tile pattern in a baking dish and pour the cream mixture over them.

Bake the potato casserole in a preheated oven at 200°C (180°C fan; gas: level 2–3) for 40–45 minutes until golden brown. Remove and serve.
