Ingredients
- 4 onions
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 pork knuckles (about 2.25 kg, cured, smoked, order in advance at the butcher and have them cut once)
- 750 ml clear meat broth (ready-made product)
- 1 tbsp Raw Sugar
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 kg turnips
- 750 g mostly waxy potatoes
- ground pepper
- Salt

Peel and dice onions. Heat oil in a large braising pot. Rinse pork knuckles and pat dry. Brown the knuckles all around in the oil. Add broth, sugar, onions, and bay leaves. Cook in a preheated oven at 225°C (gas: level 5-6, fan: 200°C) for one hour.

Peel, rinse, and dice turnips and potatoes. Add them to the meat, season with pepper and salt, and cook for another hour.
