Ingredients
- 3 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 egg
- Salt

Add 1 tbsp vinegar to a cup and crack the egg into it.

Bring about 1 liter of water to a boil in a small pot, then add the remaining vinegar. Turn off the heat. When the water is only gently simmering, stir with a spoon to create a whirlpool. Gently slide the egg into the swirl so that the whites coat the yolk evenly.

After about 4 minutes, the white will be set while the yolk remains soft. Carefully lift the egg from the water with a slotted spoon and briefly rinse it. If necessary, trim any frayed edges of the white with scissors and sprinkle lightly with salt before serving or using in another recipe.
