Ingredients

  • 450 g corn (canned)
  • 40 g Butter
  • 40 g flour
  • 350 ml milk
  • 4 eggs (separated)
  • 150 g grated cheese (e.g., Emmental, Greyerzer)
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • Salt
  • white pepper (ground)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 200°C with upper and lower heat.

    Drain the corn well over a sieve.

    Melt the butter in a pot, sprinkle in the flour, let it brown slightly, add the milk and simmer while stirring for 2 minutes. Remove from heat, let cool a bit, then stir in the yolks with cheese and corn. Beat the egg whites until stiff, gradually fold in the herbs. Pour the mixture into a buttered and floured pan and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Remove and serve.
