Ingredients

  • 400 g short macaroni
  • Salt
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 stalk Celery
  • 300 g mussels
  • 150 g dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 300 g shrimp (pre-cooked)
  • 100 g chorizo
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Cayenne pepper
  • ground saffron

Instructions

  1. 1.

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Wash the celery, remove any fibers if necessary, and slice thinly. Thoroughly wash and clean the mussels.

  2. 2.

Bring the wine to a boil and add the mussels. Cover and cook for 6-8 minutes until the mussels open. Discard closed shells and use a slotted spoon to remove the cooked mussels. Sauté the onion and garlic cubes in a large pan with hot oil. Rinse and drain the shrimp.

  3. 3.

Peel the sausage and slice it. Add both the sliced sausage and celery to the pan and cook for about 3 minutes. Combine the pasta, parsley, and mussels, seasoning everything with salt, pepper, and saffron. Plate on dishes or serve directly from the pan, garnishing with lemon wedges as desired.
