Pasta Gratin

Ingredients
- 400 g macaroni
- 1 onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 4 tomatoes
- 2 Zucchini
- 0.5 bunch oregano
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 800 g mixed ground meat
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- 350 g spicy Gouda (freshly grated)
- 300 g whipping cream
- 4 eggs
- butter (for the dish)
Instructions

Cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, drain, rinse with cold water and set aside.

Peel and finely dice onion and garlic. Blanch tomatoes, peel, quarter, seed and dice them.

Wash zucchini, cut into 4 mm wide half-moon slices or strips, then cut across into 4 mm wide sticks.

Brown ground meat in a pan with hot oil, add onion and garlic, mix in tomato cubes and oregano, season with salt and pepper.

Whisk cream with eggs, salt and pepper.

Layer half of the macaroni lengthwise in a buttered baking dish, sprinkle with a layer of cheese. Add zucchini strips on top. Pour half of the cream-egg mixture over it and spread the ground meat evenly, then cover with another layer of cheese. Arrange remaining macaroni on top. Pour remaining cream-egg mixture and finish with a final cheese layer.

Bake in preheated oven at 180°C for about 35‑40 minutes until golden brown.
