Paprikagulasch with Onions

Ingredients

  • 300 g onions (6 medium onions)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 kg beef (from the shoulder)
  • 3 tbsp Rapeseed oil
  • 2 tbsp Paprika powder (sweet)
  • 2 tbsp paprika powder (hot)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 20 g Tomato paste (1 tbsp)
  • 1 l beef broth
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 2 yellow bell peppers
  • 2 green bell peppers

Instructions

    Peel and dice the onions and garlic.

    Rinse the meat under cold water, pat dry, and roughly dice it.

  3. 3.

    Heat the oil in a pot. Brown the meat in portions over high heat and remove it. Then add all the meat to the pot, mix in the onions and garlic, and brown everything together for another 3 minutes over high heat.

    Mix in the paprika powder, season with salt, pepper, and cumin, and stir in the tomato paste. Pour in the beef broth and simmer covered over low heat for about 1 hour.

    Meanwhile, wash, clean, and slice the bell peppers into strips. Add the pepper strips to the meat and simmer for another 30 minutes.

    Season the goulash with salt and pepper.
