Ingredients
- 150 g Hazelnuts
- 50 g candied orange peel
- 50 g candied lemon peel
- 50 g dried cherries
- 50 g Raisins
- 40 ml rum
- 400 g flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 100 g sugar
- 1 untreated orange (zest)
- 200 g quark
- 200 g soft butter
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
-
1.
Roast the hazelnuts in a hot pan. Then place them on a kitchen towel and rub off the skins. Roughly chop.
-
2.
Chop the candied orange peel, candied lemon peel, dried cherries, and raisins, then mix with rum and let sit.
-
3.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with both fan and top heating.
-
4.
Sift the flour with baking powder onto a work surface. Form a well in the center and add sugar, orange zest, drained quark, and 150 g butter. Roughly chop and quickly knead all ingredients into a smooth dough. Fold in the fruit and hazelnuts, then shape the dough into 3-4 small stollen. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper (optionally cover with a folded strip of foil to keep the shape). Bake for about 45 minutes. If the stollen darkens too much, cover with foil.
-
5.
Remove the stollen from the oven and brush with remaining melted butter. Generously dust with powdered sugar and let cool.
