Melon-Strawberry Salad with Balsamic Dressing

A fresh fruit salad featuring melon and strawberry combined with a homemade balsamic caramel dressing. Try this and other recipes from Spoonsparrow!

Ingredients

  • 75 g brown sugar
  • 5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 5 tbsp orange juice
  • 250 g strawberries
  • 0.5 Charentais melon
  • 0.5 honeydew melon
  • lemon balm leaf

Instructions

    Melt the brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, gently swirling occasionally to ensure even melting without clumping. Add the balsamic vinegar and orange juice. Simmer the vinaigrette at low heat until the caramel dissolves completely. Let the balsamic caramel cool.

    While the sauce cools, wash and trim the strawberries; halve or leave whole depending on size.

    Remove seeds from the Charentais and honeydew melons and use a melon baller to form balls. Combine the melon balls with the strawberries in dessert cups or bowls.

    Drizzle the cooled balsamic caramel over the fruit mixture.

    Serve garnished with lemon balm leaves as desired.
