Meat Patties

Classic, simple and always good: Try the meat patties from Spoonsparrow as a snack on the go or with vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 old-fashioned roll
  • 1 onion
  • 3 Tbsp plant oil
  • 2 tbsp freshly chopped herbs (e.g., parsley and oregano)
  • 600 g minced veal (or mixed ground meat)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp sharp mustard
  • Salt
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

    Soak the rolls in lukewarm water. Peel and finely chop the onion, then sauté it in 1 tbsp oil until translucent. Add the herbs and mix well. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

    Combine the minced meat with the egg, mustard, squeezed-out roll crumbs, onion mixture, salt, and pepper; knead into a cohesive mixture and shape into patties.

    Pan-fry the patties in a hot skillet with the remaining oil for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Reduce heat and cook for another 4-5 minutes to finish. Serve with mashed potatoes.
