Ingredients
- 1 small head of lettuce
- 2 tomatoes (cored, peeled, seeded, diced)
- 2 stalks celery (thinly sliced)
- 8 matjes fillets (diced)
- 1 red onion (thinly sliced into rings)
- 1 bundle dill (finely chopped)
- 1 pickled cucumber (finely minced)
- 2 tbsp crème fraîche
- 100 ml heavy cream
- 3 tbsp Lemon juice
- Salt
- fresh ground pepper
- 0.5 tsp Sugar
Instructions

Separate large leaves from the lettuce head, wash and dry them.

Slice celery into thin rounds, dice matjes, slice onion into thin rings, and finely mince pickled cucumber.

Whisk together crème fraîche, heavy cream, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper; fold in the prepared salad ingredients.

Distribute lettuce leaves onto four plates and arrange the matjes salad on top.

Serve with boiled potatoes if desired.
