Ingredients

  • 200 g sugar
  • 150 ml lemon juice
  • 1 untreated lemon (or orange, grated zest)
  • 4 mint sprigs
  • cold mineral water (or sparkling wine)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

    Boil sugar with lemon juice, zest and orange peel. Add mint and simmer for about 10 minutes, then strain the syrup through a sieve and cover to chill overnight.

    For serving pour 1 tablespoon of syrup into each glass and top with mineral water or sparkling wine. Add ice cubes as desired.
