Ingredients

  • 700 g halibut (ready to cook, skinless)
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 onions
  • 6 tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • pinch chili powder
  • 4 Tbsp chopped coriander
  • Garam masala

Instructions

    Wash the fish and pat dry. Cut into portions, season with salt and pepper, drizzle with lemon juice, and set aside. Peel and finely chop the onions. Score the tomatoes crosswise, blanch in boiling water, cool, peel, remove stem ends, and roughly dice the flesh.

    Heat oil in a pan, sauté onions for 2 minutes, add turmeric, ground coriander, and chili powder, cooking until fragrant. Add the fish, mix in the tomatoes, and cook for about 3 minutes. Sprinkle with half of the chopped coriander or parsley and some garam masala, cover, and let simmer for 8-10 minutes. Garnish with remaining coriander and serve. Pair with rice or Indian flatbread.
