Ingredients

  • 400 g flour
  • 0.5 cube yeast (21 g)
  • 60 g sugar
  • 160 ml lukewarm milk
  • 70 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • flour (for working)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • almond flakes (for ears)
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • colorful sugar beads

Instructions

  1. 1.

Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Dissolve the yeast with the sugar in the milk, pour it into the well, dust with a little flour, cover and let rise for 15 minutes. Add the butter and egg, knead everything into a smooth, firm dough, adjusting the flour amount if necessary. The dough should no longer stick to the hands. Cover and let rise for about 45 minutes.

  2. 2.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C fan-forced. Line one or two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  3. 3.

Knead the dough again well and roll it out on a floured surface to a thickness of 4–5 mm. Cut out rabbit shapes with an appropriate cutter, place them on the sheet. Whisk the egg yolk with milk until smooth and brush the rabbits with this mixture. Place almond flakes as ears and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Remove, take off the sheet and let cool.

  4. 4.

To decorate melt the chocolate, allow it to cool slightly, fill a freezer bag, cut a small corner and spray faces, buttons and feet onto the rabbits. Sprinkle with sugar beads and let dry.
