Ingredients

  • 400 g cucumber (1 cucumber)
  • 200 g quark
  • 250 g yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • Salt
  • black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 Romaine Lettuce Hearts
  • 50 g black olives
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 onion
  • 800 g pre-seasoned lamb meat (pan gyros, from the meat counter)

Instructions

    Wash the cucumber for the tzatziki, dry and grate it, peel, halve lengthwise, deseed, and coarse-grate. Sprinkle with a little salt, let sit briefly to draw out water, then squeeze well. Mix quark, yogurt, lemon juice, and grated cucumber together. Peel the garlic, press into the mixture, and season with salt and pepper.

    Wash the tomatoes, pat dry, and slice them. Wash the lettuce, trim the core, and tear into bite-sized pieces. Arrange the lettuce, tomatoes, and olives on plates, then drizzle with olive oil and white wine vinegar.

    Cook the gyros in a non-stick pan over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes. Serve with tzatziki alongside the salad.
