Ground Meat Rolls

Ingredients

  • 8 large white cabbage leaves
  • Salt
  • 500 g mixed ground meat
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • pepper (ground)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 250 ml vegetable broth
  • 150 g passata
  • 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley

Instructions

    Wash the cabbage leaves and blanch them in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes. Remove, shock in cold water, pat dry and cut off the tough stem ends. Lay the leaves flat side by side.

    Mix the ground meat with the egg, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper; divide into 8 equal portions. Shape each into a small roll (about 2.5 cm diameter), place on the cabbage leaf, fold the opposite sides toward the center, and roll up. Tie with kitchen twine and brown the rolls in a hot pan with oil for 3-4 minutes all around. Deglaze with broth, stir in the passata, cover and simmer over medium heat for about 30 minutes.

    Remove the twine, season the sauce with salt and pepper, plate the rolls, drizzle with sauce and sprinkle parsley before serving.
