  • 2 onions
  • 800 g ground beef (beef)
  • 250 ml red wine
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 400 g waxy potatoes
  • 100 ml milk
  • Salt
  • chili powder
  • 75 g grated Manchego

Instructions

  1. 1.

Dice the chorizo and fry in a pan without oil for 3-4 minutes. Peel and finely dice the onions, add to the pan and cook another 1-2 minutes. Add the ground beef and brown it crumbly. Deglaze with red wine. Wash the tomatoes, cut off the stems, dice them, and add to the beef mixture; simmer for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

  2. 2.

Wash the potatoes and boil for about 30 minutes until tender. Peel, press through a potato masher, and let steam dry. Mix in hot milk and season with salt.

  3. 3.

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan (350°F).

  4. 4.

Season the beef with salt and chili, place it in a baking dish, spread the mashed potatoes on top, sprinkle with Manchego cheese, and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
