Ingredients

  • 400 g cherry tomatoes (on stems)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 4 beef steaks
  • 4 slices of bread (e.g., light country loaf)
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 4 slices goat cheese (e.g., semi-hard sliced cheese)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) with upper and lower heat. Rinse the tomatoes, place them on stems in a baking dish, drizzle with 1 tbsp oil, and bake for about 15 minutes.

  2. 2.

Whisk the remaining oil with lemon juice. Add pressed peeled garlic. Rinse the steaks, pat dry, and brush with the mixture. Grill each side for about 2 minutes (or to desired doneness).

  3. 3.

Toast the bread on a grill or in another pan without fat until one side is crisp. Flip and top each slice with a cheese piece. Season the breads and steaks with salt and pepper.

  4. 4.

Arrange the steaks on the cheese‑topped breads and place the tomatoes on top. Serve with coarse mustard.
