Ingredients

  • 4 sirloin steaks (200 g each)
  • 4 tbsp mixed herbs (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 120 g sour cream
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • spring onions
  • Salt
  • freshly ground pepper

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 200°C fan-forced. Wrap the potatoes in foil and bake for 40-50 minutes.

  2. 2.

Peel the garlic and mix with 4-5 tbsp oil and herbs. Wash and trim the spring onions, cutting into 2-3 cm pieces.

  3. 3.

Just before the end of cooking time, grill the steaks on a tabletop or charcoal grill for 3-4 minutes per side, depending on desired doneness.

  4. 4.

Place the grilled steaks on a platter, season generously with salt and pepper, then drizzle with herb oil. Remove potatoes from foil, cut a slit on top, place beside the steaks and spoon a thick dollop of sour cream over each. Sprinkle with spring onions and serve with fresh white bread.
