Fresh mackerels grilled with a zesty curry‑lemon rub and served with a pretzel. This recipe showcases the vibrant flavors of sea fish, perfect for a Mediterranean-inspired meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole ready-to-cook mackerels (about 350 g each)
  • 4 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt
  • ground black pepper

Instructions

    Wash the mackerels inside and out, then pat them dry with paper towels.

    Whisk together the oil, curry powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; brush the mixture onto the fish from the inside. Thread the fish onto prepared (preferably soaked) wooden skewers and brush the outside with the remaining seasoning‑oil blend.

    Grill over a steady flame or coals, turning constantly for about 20 minutes until cooked through. Serve with a pretzel.
