Ingredients

  • 170 ml olive oil
  • 2 tbsp chopped oregano
  • 3 tbsp chopped flat parsley
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 3 small red chilies (deveined and finely chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 1 kg baby octopus
  • lime wedge (for serving)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Mix oil, herbs, lemon juice, chili, and garlic in a large bowl to make the marination.

  2. 2.

Using a sharp knife, cut off the octopus heads. Hold the body firmly and push out the tentacles from the center with your index finger. Slice the heads open and remove the innards. If the animals are too large, cut them into pieces. Mix with the herb marination, cover, and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.

  3. 3.

Drain the octopus and reserve the marination. Grill on a very hot, lightly oiled grill or in a very hot pan for 3-5 minutes until the flesh turns white. Frequently turn during cooking and generously brush with the reserved marination. Serve with lime wedges.
