Gratinated Chinese Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 2 Chinese cabbages (approx. 400g each)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
  • 100g coarse rolled oats
  • 70g Emmental cheese (1 piece)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 100 ml double cream
  • 200 ml vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

    Halve the cabbage lengthwise, wash, trim and blanch in boiling salted water for approx. 3 minutes. Remove and cool in an ice bath. Drain well.

    Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Sauté in hot oil until translucent. Fry the oats for 1 minute and remove from heat. Grate the Emmental cheese and mix with the oat mixture, season with salt and pepper.

    Place the cabbage halves with the cut side up in a baking dish. Mix the cream and vegetable broth and pour over the Chinese cabbage. Place the oat mixture on top.

    Gratinate in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan: 160 °C; gas mark 2-3 approx. 25 minutes) and serve garnished with parsley.
