Ingredients

  • 500 ml red wine
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 100 g raisins
  • 2 lemon slices (unprocessed)
  • 100 g peeled almond kernels
  • 12 pieces cube sugar
  • 250 ml brandy
  • cinnamon stick (for garnish)

    Pour the red wine with cardamom, cinnamon stick, cloves and raisins into a pot and heat slowly until the wine is almost boiling. Reduce the heat, add the raisins and almonds to the wine and let it steep for about 15 minutes, but do not boil. Then remove the cinnamon, cloves and cardamom as desired.

    Place the cube sugar in a small pot, pour brandy over it, light it with a long match, and slowly melt the sugar before pouring it into the red wine. Fill punch glasses evenly with the Glögg, add raisins and almonds, garnish with cinnamon stick, and serve immediately.
