Ingredients

  • 2 whole wheat rolls (old-fashioned)
  • 0.5 bunch Parsley
  • 70 g onions (1 onion)
  • 80 g Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp mustard (sharp)
  • 800 g ground beef
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram

Instructions

    Slice the whole wheat rolls and soak them in slightly warm water. Wash, dry, and finely chop the parsley. Peel and finely dice the onion.

    Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan and sauté the onion for 1–2 minutes until translucent. Let cool slightly. Squeeze out excess water from the rolls. Mix the squeezed rolls, onion, eggs, mustard, and parsley with the ground beef in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and 1 tsp marjoram. Knead well and shape into 10 meatballs.

    Heat the remaining butter in the pan, place 4 meatballs at once in the hot pan, and brown for 4–5 minutes on medium heat. Turn them over and cook the other side until golden brown. Repeat until all meatballs are cooked.
