Fried Jarlsberg

Crispy fried Jarlsberg with a crunchy salad – a tasty and protein-rich lunch à la Spoonsparrow.
Ingredients
- 400 g Jarlsberg cheese (cut into 4 slices)
- 200 g Flour
- 3 whisked eggs
- 200 g breadcrumbs
- oil for frying
- 12 Cherry tomatoes
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 6 basil leaves
- salt and pepper

Distribute the flour, whisked eggs, and breadcrumbs in three shallow bowls. First coat each slice of Jarlsberg cheese in flour, then in egg, repeat the process, and finally roll the slices in breadcrumbs.

Place the well-coated Jarlsberg slices in the freezer for 30 minutes. Heat frying oil to 180 °C and fry the slices until golden brown.

Mix the tomatoes with olive oil and basil, season with salt and pepper. Bake in the oven at 80 °C for 5 hours (can be prepared several days ahead). Serve warm fried Jarlsberg with baked tomatoes and a sweet‑spicy chili sauce.
