Entrecôte Steak with Onion Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 4 entrecôte steaks (≈180 g each)
  • 1 tsp herbs de Provence
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 4 onions
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

Instructions

    Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings. In hot oil, sauté over medium heat until the onion rings turn a golden‑yellow color; remove from pan and keep warm.

    Season the entrecôte steaks with salt, pepper and sprinkle herbs de Provence on both sides. Massage the spices into the meat with fingertips. Heat oil in a skillet, place the steaks and sear each side until a deep brown crust forms. Turn off heat, cover, and let the meat rest without further heat to reach desired doneness (rare, medium or well‑done), turning once if needed. Plate each steak on a warmed plate, top with onions, and serve.
