Chocolate Hummus

The Chocolate Hummus from Spoonsparrow is a sweet variation of the popular Middle Eastern classic.

Ingredients

  • 250 g chickpeas (canned; drained weight)
  • 60 g Almonds
  • 60 g dried dates (pitted)
  • 1 tsp high-oleic cocoa powder (3 g)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • a pinch of pepper
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 150 ml Milk (3.5% fat)
  • 100 g dark chocolate chips (at least 70% cacao)
  • 2 plums
  • 2 figs

Instructions

    Rinse and drain the chickpeas. Blend them with almonds, dates, cocoa powder, honey, a pinch of pepper, and cinnamon in a blender until smooth, gradually adding milk until the desired consistency is reached.

    Fold in about half of the chocolate chips, spoon the hummus into bowls, and sprinkle the remaining chips on top. Clean, wash, quarter the plums, pit them, and clean the figs. Serve the chocolate hummus garnished with the fruit.
