Ingredients

  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 125 g soft butter
  • 150 g cane sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • 0.5 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 150 g walnuts (coarsely chopped)
  • 150 ml whipping cream
  • 3 g cornstarch
  • 70 g dark couverture
  • 4 scoops chocolate ice cream
  • 4 chocolate truffles

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. 2.

For the cake, chop the chocolate and melt it in a double boiler while stirring. In a bowl, beat the butter and cane sugar until creamy. Then add the eggs and melted chocolate. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla sugar, then fold into the chocolate mixture along with the walnuts.

  3. 3.

Grease the pan, pour in the batter, and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes (do a toothpick test). Remove, transfer to a cooling rack, and let cool.

  4. 4.

For the chocolate sauce, bring 3/4 of the cream to a boil. Whisk the cornstarch with the remaining cream and stir into the boiling cream. Remove from heat and melt the chopped couverture in it, then let cool.

  5. 5.

To serve, cut the cake into four roughly 7 cm circles. Place on plates, top each with an ice cream scoop, drizzle with chocolate sauce, and garnish with a chocolate truffle.
