Ingredients
- 4 chicory heads
- 30 g Butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 0.125 l milk
- 75 g grated Gouda cheese
- salt (pepper)
- 4 slices cooked ham
- fat for the pan
Instructions

Wash and trim the chicory, cut off the stem in a wedge shape. Bring salted water to a boil and blanch the stems for 3 minutes, then lift them out and shock with cold water. Drain well.

Heat butter in a saucepan, sprinkle flour over it, let it brown slightly, then slowly pour in milk while stirring. Add cheese to the sauce, melt at low heat, and season with salt and pepper.

Grease a baking dish with butter, wrap the chicory sticks with ham slices and arrange them side by side in the dish. Pour the cheese sauce over them and bake at 200 °C for 15 minutes until golden.
