Ingredients
- 250 g table lentils
- 1 onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1 Green Chili Pepper
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 400 g chicken broth
- 400 g coconut milk
- 2 chicken breast fillets (≈140 g each)
- Salt
- ground black pepper
- coriander leaves for garnish

Wash the lentils in hot water and drain. Peel and finely chop the onion, garlic, and chili pepper. Sauté with onion, garlic, and ginger in hot sesame oil. Stir in cumin and garam masala, then deglaze with chicken broth and coconut milk. Simmer gently for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally; add more broth if needed.

Wash, pat dry, and steam the chicken breasts for about 10 minutes until cooked through. Let cool slightly, shred, and distribute over soup bowls. Season the soup with salt and pepper, pour over the shredded chicken, and garnish with coriander leaves.
