Ingredients

  • 800 g firm potatoes
  • Salt
  • 300 ml whipping cream
  • 100 g processed cheese
  • 0.5 tsp freshly chopped thyme
  • 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
  • pepper (ground)
  • Nutmeg (freshly grated)
  • 80 g shredded cheese (e.g., Gouda)

Instructions

    Wash the potatoes and parboil in salted boiling water for 15 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 200°C fan or conventional heat. Whisk cream with processed cheese and herbs, season with salt, pepper, nutmeg.

    Drain potatoes, let them steam dry, slice into 1 cm thick rounds.

    Place in a buttered casserole dish, pour over two‑thirds with the cream mixture, sprinkle with shredded cheese, bake for about 35 minutes in preheated oven.
