Cevapcici with Tzatziki from Spoonsparrow – a delicious classic that always works!

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 g ground lamb
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1.5 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 0.5 tsp hot paprika powder
  • Salt
  • freshly ground pepper

  • 1 small cucumber
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 500 g yogurt
  • 150 g quark
  • 1 tsp Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

    Wash, peel and grate the cucumber coarsely into a bowl using a kitchen grater. Place the cucumber in a clean linen cloth and squeeze out the juice. Peel the garlic cloves and press them through a garlic press. Mix the yogurt with quark, olive oil and the cucumber-garlic mixture. Season the tzatziki with salt and pepper and keep it cold until serving.

    Press the garlic cloves into the ground meat in a bowl. Add 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp water, both paprika powders, salt and pepper, then knead into a smooth dough. With wet hands form 16 small rolls about 8 cm long from the mixture.

    Heat a pan over medium heat. Brush the cevapcici with a little oil and brown them all sides for 10 minutes. Arrange the cevapcici on plates and serve with tzatziki.
